Prunes
Prunes are high in fiber, which helps prevent hemorrhoids brought on by constipation. Chronic constipation is a common problem in older adults and can also be a painful problem for infants. Prune juice acts as a laxative thanks to its high sorbitol content. Ask your doctor if it’s right for you or your child.
A fast paced lifestyle and lack of proper eating habits is leading more and more people to get affected with constipation these days. Regular intake of junk food is another cause of constipation.
* Steeping the prunes in water or juice for sometime before cooking will help in cutting down your cooking time.
* Remember, completely dry plums aren’t a good candidate for fast cooking. Cook them at low heat. For fast cooking, consider using semi-dried plums.
* If your prunes are excessively dry, dunk them in hot water for a couple of minutes before using.
